CULVER CITY, CA- September 20, 2002
Luna Imaging, Inc. and Sisis Germany announced a cooperative agreement today providing greater access to Luna's Insight software for institutions working with visual collections throughout Germany, Austria and the Netherlands.

The cooperative agreement brings a dynamic, new tool to Sisis's clients, who rely on the German software company for cutting-edge library systems technology.

"Insight is the perfect enhancement to our product portfolio" says Norbert Weinberger, Managing Director of Sisis Germany.

Luna Imaging's Insight® is multi-platform, scalable software that enables users to dynamically view and work with high-resolution images, data, video and audio materials online. Visual collections within Insight are being used in a variety of ways. Several leading U.S. institutions are using Insight® to draw upon their digital resources for teaching in the classroom, displaying presentations with digital projectors or monitors. Recently, the University of Edinburgh selected Insight software to provide online, public access to "Charting the Nation," a unique collection of historic maps and related texts documenting the early history of Scotland. The aim of this collaborative digital imaging and cataloguing project is to widen access to maps of Scotland and their associated archives dating from 1550 to 1740.

Sisis (http://www.sisis.de) combines its technical experience in library systems with expertise in modern Internet technology to support the development of portals for universities and libraries throughout Western Europe.

"We are pleased to have the opportunity to work cooperatively with Sisis to combine our expertise in managing and working with visual collections with Sisis's experience building gateways to that information for the institutions they serve," says Luna Imaging President Michael Ester.

Institutions within Western Europe will have the opportunity to view Luna's Insight software, which will be display September 24-25 at the 2002 Sun Digital Libraries Conference in Frankfurt, Germany. For more information about the event: http://www.sun.de/Homepage/EventWebseiten/2002/Summit-Bibliotheken/agenda.html.

Luna's Insight® software is compatible with Suns Solaris® operating system and was developed with input from users in Sun's Java technology. The software is also Unicode compliant and capable of handling a variety of languages through the creation of modular, drop in packages for each language. This allows Insight® owners to add languages and character sets to image collections housed within the software.

The cooperative agreement with Sisis marks Luna's continued expansion into international markets. The company has executed distribution agreements that provide access to Insight throughout Great Britain; Australia and New Zealand, as well as China and Taiwan.

Luna Imaging, Inc., (www.lunaimaging.com) is based in Culver City, CA. Luna Imaging enables museums, libraries and archives to build and distribute high-quality visual collections in digital form and provides sophisticated software to access and use image collections over the Internet.
