ARCHITECTURAL WONDERS OF THE WORLD A MOUSE CLICK AWAY

Luna Imaging Inc. and Hartill Collaborate to Create Dynamic Teaching Tool

SAN FRANCISCO, CA - April 6, 2000
Stonehenge, Chartres Cathedral, the Canadian Parliament Building. Surveying the world's foremost architectural monuments, Hartill Art Associates Inc.' Visual Resources for Architecture and Related Arts collection is now available online using Luna Imaging Inc.'s Insight® software.

With the growing prominence of visual collections in digital form, Luna Imaging Inc. developed a rich software tool that enables professors and students to dynamically view and work with more than 2,000 digital Hartill Art Associates images encompassing works of architecture from Prehistory to the 20th Century.

HAA's far-reaching collection incorporates Luna's Insight® software offering unprecedented online access to high-resolution digital images from HAA’s architecture and related arts catalogue.

“The educational community has looked to Hartill Art Associates as a provider of high quality slides on architecture and decorative arts for almost a quarter century. "Providing access to their collection through Insight® software means that in the 21st century, these images will be available without compromise, through features specifically designed for study and classroom instruction," said Michael Ester, president of Luna Imaging Inc.

Instructors can prepare image lectures in the office and display Insight® presentations in the classroom with digital projectors or monitors. Presentations can be as simple as choosing and arranging full screen images. Or they can incorporate several images at once to show details and side-by-side comparisons. Insight® offers searching and display of text information with an equally rich set of tools for viewing, comparing, and organizing images. The new online access also allows institutions without a slide collection immediate access to an essential visual archive at an affordable price.

"Hartill Art Associates' most recognized strength is in offering the best possible photography and coverage of architectural monuments. We think the progressive institution wants more than just images online. Luna is providing a teaching tool that makes creating classroom presentations simple and dynamic without sacrificing the integrity of the images themselves," said Marlene Hartill, president and CEO of Hartill Art Associates Inc.

The new resource was released today at the Visual Resources Association conference in San Francisco. Also available from Luna is Saskia Online.
