CULVER CITY, CA - January 30, 2004 Al Zortea has been named the new Chief Executive Officer for Luna Imaging, Inc., marking the company's commitment to extend Luna's software and services into new business markets. Luna Imaging (www.lunaimaging.com) has developed a solid reputation as an industry leader in the higher education, library and museum communities with its enterprise software solutions for building, managing and using visual resources over the Internet and its professional digital imaging services. The appointment of Zortea as the company's new CEO reflects board and investor direction to expand the use of Luna's software and services into new commercial markets while continuing to increase usage within the company's core market. "Under Luna's Founder, Michael Ester, Luna has been a pioneer in the digital imaging field and built a strong foundation in the higher education and arts communities. We have confidence that under Al's leadership, Luna can expand its customer base and offer the innovative tools for working with visual resources online to other markets where they are also critical," says Board member David Rumsey. "Everyone benefits from efforts to expand Luna's customer base because it provides us more opportunity to continue to make improvements in our software and services." Zortea joined Luna a year ago as the vice president of sales and marketing and has played a key role in developing strategic direction and partnerships for the company, most notably with Endeavor/Elsevier, Sun Microsystems and IBM. He has more than 20 years of experience in the computer and document imaging industry, having held top leadership and operating positions with Imaging Portals Inc., Hitachi, Ricoh and Honeywell Corporation. "The potential uses for Luna's Insight software are unlimited, and I am looking forward to introducing our solutions to new markets, from the GIS community to medicine, oil and gas, engineering, corporate marketing and government. Any business whose digital assets are critical to their operation will find Luna products are the best of breed solution for their needs," says Zortea. "At the same time, Luna's current market will continue to get the same personal attention and level of commitment it now receives." Luna Imaging, Inc., (www.lunaimaging.com)
