LUNA IMAGING ANNOUNCES MANAGEMENT CHANGES
LOS ANGELES, CA - March 11, 2005
Luna Imaging's Board of Directors announced today that Harvey A. Goldstein
has been named chief executive officer for the company. Goldstein was appointed
interim CEO in the fall.
Goldstein has more than 20 years experience in senior management positions, with a
particular focus on product marketing and value creation for both public and private
sector companies ranging from start-ups to blue-chip corporations. His strong
management background combines rapid-growth and global exposure in both consumer
products and services. Goldstein has been credited with corporate growth initiatives,
strategic transitions, and value creation for more than 35 companies and organizations.
"Harvey has the depth of experience and business acumen that will ensure Luna's
continued growth and success," says Luna Board member David Rumsey. "We are pleased
he has agreed to be a part of the company for the long-term."
Goldstein is best known for his dedication to client/customer involvement and service
to the client community. The mantra at Luna under Goldstein leadership is, "It is the
quality of the customer experience that will drive this company."
During the past several months, Goldstein has led Luna Imaging through several important
transitions. Earlier this year, Luna announced a dramatic reduction in the price for
Insight, its enterprise software solution for building, managing and using visual
resources over the Internet. The company also recently moved its corporate offices
into a much more productive environment.
Immediately after Goldstein's appointment, he announced that two of Luna's highly respected,
key employees, Drake Zabriskie and Rony Sawdayi, have been promoted and that Alton Hoover,
former COO has left the company. The Board and staff wish to thank Alton for his
contributions to the company.
Drake Zabriskie, who joined Luna Imaging more than a decade ago, has been promoted to vice
president of systems and services. He will oversee all client support functions.
Zabriskie rose up through Luna's ranks, formerly managing digital imaging services
and creating many of the protocols in use today. He also has played an integral role
in the development of Luna's Insight software. Before joining Luna, he worked in the
imaging field, as a freelance photographer and served in the U.S. Navy. He has a degree
in fine art photography from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena.
Rony Sawdayi joined Luna in 2002 as the director of software development and has been named
vice president of development & engineering. He will be responsible for directing the development
and deployment of Luna's software products and managing the company's technical resources.
During his tenure at Luna, Sawdayi built the in-house technical team and led the development
of Insight 5.0, a revolutionary step forward for Luna's Insight software in terms of interoperability
and ease of use. Insight 5.0 represented a major restructuring in the software, incorporating
drag-and-drop features, wizard based help menus and support for JPEG2000 and the MySQL database.
Sawdayi also created processes for streamlining software releases, which has led to successful and
greatly improved versions of Insight.
Sawdayi has close to two decades of experience in computer science and management in the software industry.
At the outset of his career, he led several successful projects to develop tools and software for the
supercomputing community and also developed modularized infrastructure for online services. He received his
bachelor and Master of Science degrees in computer science & engineering from UCLA.
Based in Los Angeles, CA., Luna Imaging, Inc., www.lunaimaging.com provides Insight software and digital
