We were innovative in 1995 when we invented an elegant solution for image management and Insight v1.0 was created. With v6.0 Insight only gets better. Newly architected for the Web 2.0 world Insight v6.0 features an all new Browser interface and a simplified user management structure. The intuitive interface will build upon our existing Browser with added functionality and clear exposure of all features. We like to think of it as the 3rd generation product since Insight began as a C++ application.

We plan to release v6.0 in the Fall and will continue to update you on our progress. In the meantime we encourage you to keep building those digital collections! Contact us if you’d like more detailed information.

Digitization: Judging the Difference

Luna has long been known for setting the standard for high quality Digital Imaging Services. Our clients appreciate the detailed item-level attention we give to receiving, organizing, and delivering their materials. While we remain committed to the safe handling of your materials, we do want to bring your attention to the many different levels of capture options and associated services that we offer from inexpensive straight capture to custom edits and retouching.

The selection of services determines the final costs and it is important to have a full understanding of the processes involved in order to comparison shop. We are always available to offer guidance, provide quotes for specific projects, and to work with you to meet your needs.

With the Museums and the Web conference on the horizon, we wanted to commend David Rumsey for the work that he has been performing to deliver content to the Insight Community and the world at large. For Museums and the Web, David will participate in the closing plenary session focusing on the future of Museums and the Web. David will speak on the topic of open content and the work he is doing with the Open Content Alliance. This fits in well with Luna Imaging’s Insight development plans where we hope to move content from ‘out of sight’ to ‘in Insight’- easily accessed and free. As more and more institutions choose Insight for their digital collection needs, you might be surprised to find one around the corner from you. Check out our Google Maps Insight client list. A regional Insight Meeting might be just around the corner…

We welcome these new clients: Brooklyn Museum of Art, Canadian Conservation Institute, Colorado State University, Oxford University and the Kittredge Foundation.

See you in San Francisco and Minneapolis.

Freshly returned from the annual VRA Conference in Kansas City, we’re packing up and heading out to San Francisco for the Museums and the Web conference, April 11-14. Next stop- the Twin Cities where we’ll be attending the Northeast Document Conservation Center: School for Scanning, May 1-3.

We are happy to schedule appointments to talk about your digital imaging needs and our exciting development plans for Insight v6.0. To schedule an appointment, please contact sales@luna-img.com or call 1.800.452.LUNA (5862).
