BookReader Integration Revolutionizes LUNA
We are delighted to announce the arrival of a major game changer to LUNA with the integration of the BookReader. With Insight v6.0 we mastered the art of dynamically delivering high resolution images on the web, and now we've done the same for text-based objects.

Browse Books in LUNA
The BookReader integrates the discovery and display of compound objects such as books, manuscripts, and newspapers in LUNA. In addition to descriptive data, BookReader objects are indexed for full text searching.

Quickly Build Collections
Add Internet Archive titles to your LUNA collections to quickly build the robust resources your users need. With over 1 million titles, the Internet Archive Text Archive contains a wide range of fiction, popular books, children's books, historical texts and academic books. By viewing Internet Archive content in LUNA your users will benefit from the extensive LUNA feature set including Media Groups, Presentations, Slide Shows, and more.

Build BookReader Objects
Now you can build your own BookReader objects including OCR of printed text which will be searchable in LUNA, and represents a compound object with a single thumbnail in search results.

Full Text Search
LUNA now indexes Full Text from BookReader and PDF media. Users will be able to select whether they search catalog data or both catalog data and the text in documents.

OAI-PMH and RSS
LUNA collections can now be exposed to OAI-PMH harvesters such as OAIster which feeds WorldCat.org. RSS feeds introduce additional flexibility for delivering targeted content to users and keep audiences up to date on the latest changes to your collections.

Archivision in LUNA
We are working with the team at Archivision to provide access to their Library through LUNA. Have you licensed the Archivision Library? Would you like to streamline delivery through LUNA? Please contact Nancy so we know that you are interested.

Beyond Discovery
In addition to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and OAI-PMH, we’ve exposed LUNACommons.org collections to library discovery solutions. Our first in a series of partnerships is with Summon from SerialsSolutions. The LUNA content is displayed in Summon with a thumbnail and media information, then when users click on the thumbnail they are taken directly to LUNA and view the item in the LUNA Detail View. Try it out at the Dartmouth College Library website.
