Let Us Be Your Host
Not long ago most Insight clients had site licenses, which meant they managed upgrades, back-ups and maintained Insight themselves.
But times have changed, and now we’re doing this work for them.
An ever increasing number of our clients are realizing that our hosting services save them both time and money, things that seems to
be in short supply these days. Join the movement, and let us do the heavy lifting while you focus on building great collections.
As a hosted client you’ll always have the most current
version of our toolset and you’ll save money on hardware, maintenance, and valuable support resources. It’s a win-win situation because when you succeed, we succeed.
View our Products and Services PDF, or our Hosting PDF for more details.
OAI and Web-scale Discovery Tools
Allowing your collections to appear in the LUNA Commons is one way to promote your content;
another is to allow your collections to be harvested using OAI-PMH. If your institution is using a web-scale discovery service, OAI-PMH exposure is the best way to ensure your
LUNA content is included.
It gets better: you can also ensure other institutions add your collections to their local discovery service by registering
collections for OAI-PMH and sharing the base URL with them. We're collecting these OAI base URLs at our User Forum.
Growing the LUNA Commons
The LUNA Commons continues to grow and we’re always looking for new collections to add!
We publish new collections to the LUNA Commons on a quarterly basis. The next update will be in December, if you’re interested in
contributing a collection please let us know. If you’re not ready yet we’ll be sure to remind you before our next update in March, 2012.
Learn more, including how to share and receive LUNA Commons collections, at the User Forum.
